  • Sarah Baptist
    Sarah Baptist
    Visual Arts: Painting
Sarah Baptist – Artist Statement The character and essence of city streets, alleys, train tracks and such, capture Sarah’s attention when she paints. She finds rhythms in the shapes of the urban landscape. Sarah finds the impact of man and nature co-existing a fascinating subject. Sarah is an urban landscape oil painter, who enjoys plein air painting. Being on location, responding and reacting to the light, color and atmosphere is a challenge and a joy. Recently, Sarah has started to use this plein air work, as well as many photos taken while out painting, to create larger urban landscapes and abstractions in her home studio. Sarah started out as a set designer because she loved creating the illusion of another world on the stage. That morphed into painting scenery for theater, opera and specialty events for 20+ years from Maine to Wisconsin to New Hampshire and finally Delaware. Now she creates worlds with oil paints rather than on the stage! Sarah is a self-taught artist. She has shown her work in numerous galleries in the area and has won a number of awards at regional plein air events. Sarah invites you to see more of her artwork at SarahBaptistArt.com and Instagram.com/sbaptistart
  • Siobhan Bedford
    Siobhan Bedford
    Visual Arts: Painting
Siobhan Bedford’s oil paintings, strive to capture the raw energy and complexity of creation, through explorations of rhythm in the chaos of flowing color. A bright focal point often emerges into ethereal atmospheres, revealing forms which are rooted in the earth’s elements and hint at a connection to the infinite. She paints sitting on the floor turning the canvas as she works. This allows a sense of floating above rather than the ordinary orientation of up and down. She sees painting as an extension of the self-revealing inner emotional energy states. It expresses a kind of consciousness in color and form that is both deeply personal yet finds a connection in viewers with a shared inner experience. She received her BFA, Illustration and Painting from Marywood College, Scranton, PA in 1995. Her most recent solo show “Emergence” was at the Chester County Art Association, West Chester, PA in 2016. She has been participating in the Chester County Open Studio Tour since 2016. She shares her art making experience on her blog “Behind The Studio Door.” www.siobhanbedford.com

  • AMY BRUCKNER
    AMY BRUCKNER
    Visual Arts: Mixed Media; Mosaics
Amy has always been involved with one art form or another, from pottery to watercolor painting but creating beautiful, original mosaics is what she loves to do most.  She started out with ceramic tiles, moved on to glass which enables more intricate designs, then rocks (yes, rocks – she was a geologist in a former life) and now incorporates ceramic elements into her mosaics, a ceramic-mosaic mashup. Amy is a native of the Philadelphia suburbs, and began her career as a mosaic artist 13 years ago studying under Gina Hubler of Design Impact Studios of Miami. She continued honing her skills with award-winning mosaic artist Isaiah Zagar, best known for his brilliantly eclectic Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, as well as mosaic artists Cynthia Fisher, Laura Rendlen, Yulia Hanansen, Guilio Menossi and Rachel Sager.  Amy works out of her home studio near Downingtown, PA, and teaches classes in the area.  Her work has been shown in several juried art shows – Downingtown Fine Arts Festival 2106, Art in Autumn, Weaverville, NC 2015 and 2016, as well as galleries – Mala Galleria in Kennett Square, PA and Ivystone Studio in Downingtown, PA, and at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, PA.
