Hi Neighbor!
Last week, while doing my daily Social Media scroll, I saw a funny meme that said “Adult female friendships are mostly sending memes and helping diagnose sociopaths in each other’s lives”. Not only did it make me LOL, I immediately texted it to my bestie who gets my humor 😂. We’ve known each other for over 20 years – since our children started Kindergarten together. When Covid hit, we started sharing more and more of these types of texts. During lockdown days, memes helped us to stay sane, and laugh, but they also kept us connected during a time when we couldn’t physically be together.
Three years later, we are still going strong, perfecting our meme streak every day! The humorous memes and quotes that we send to each other have become a huge part of our friendship, offering a quick and effective way to brighten each other’s day!
While that may sound crazy to some, it turns out that sending funny memes to a best friend has become an art form in the digital age – a modern twist on sharing a good laugh over coffee or a late-night phone call.
In this age of texting and social media, memes can serve as the perfect connector. They keep friends and relatives (near and far) connected by sharing humor. Whether it’s a clever caption, a relatable image, or a hilarious video clip, sending funny memes to a best friend is a gesture that says, “I’m thinking of you” without the need for words. It’s the virtual equivalent of sharing an inside joke, a secret language only the two of you understand.
Memes can also serve as a form of emotional support. They offer a humorous escape from the stresses of life, allowing friends to momentarily forget their worries and revel in shared hilarity. It’s a reminder that you’re there for each other, even when you can’t physically be together.
I am very thankful for the emotional support that my bestie has given to me over the years via the well-timed memes that she sends me; they always bring a smile to my face, even on the gloomiest of days. I also feel VERY lucky that she reads the many, many memes that I send to her at all hours of the day. I’m a night owl, so sometimes these go to her after midnight and the true friend that she is, she always responds to me with a smiley face or heart, first thing the next morning😍.
Ultimately, sending funny memes to each other has kept us connected as we lead our busy lives that have taken us in different directions since the school days of our kids. They have helped to maintain and strengthen our friendship, reminding us that no matter where life takes us, we will always have a good laugh to share with each other.
Live, Love, and Laugh,
Chris PS – In honor of your birthday next week bestie, this meme is for you😍…
