Signed on June 28, 1919 between Germany and the principal Allied powers, the Treaty of Versailles formally ended World War I.
A century later, historian and award-winning author Michael Neiberg examines factors that influenced this treaty – problematic from the beginning – including the roles of the “Big Four” leaders and the enormous challenges facing those who tried to put the world back together after the global destruction of the World War I. Also explored will be the treaty’s impact on World War II, decolonization, the Cold War, and even today’s complex world.
