Irish Trad Music Session

IRISH TRAD MUSIC SESSIONS at the Kelly Center 2nd Thursday each month 6:15-9pm. FREE.  BYOB.

Led by Kirsten Erwin and Bob Michel

A traditional Irish session, open to all players and lovers of Irish dance music. Novices are invited to come listen, learn, and begin to play along.  The first half hour (6:30-7) is devoted to more familiar tunes and a more relaxed pace, for the benefit of less experienced players.

Kirsten Erwin and Bob Michel are stalwarts of Philly’s Irish music scene. Kirsten is an accomplished and eclectic player whose whistle and flute have enlivened ceilis, contras and country dances up and down the East Coast. Bob’s a multi-instrumentalist, teacher, composer and serial session leader who’s been playing traditional music for more than 50 years.

Sessions are FREE to attend or participate.  Donations to support the Kelly Center will be gladly accepted at the Session or Venmo @Kelly4music or PayPal/Credit Card https://kellycenter.org/contribute/

Doors open at 6:00 pm

Free Parking in Oakmont Municipal lot behind Kelly Center off Darby Road. The Kelly Center is wheelchair accessible.
