26th Annual Reverend Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

Mayor James Kenney, along with other elected officials, school administrators, and supporters of Dr. King’s legacy will join us in honoring Philadelphia Eagles, Malcolm Jenkins for his commitment to social justice. This will be a day of inspiration, music, fellowship, art and education, geared toward remembering the life, work and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year, there will be a special presentation to recognize and honor those within our community deserving of the first annual Louise Williams Bishop Peace+Love Award. The Award will be given to those who exemplify the passion and commitment of our generation’s Ambassador of Peace, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The event will culminate with a goal driven Guinness Book of World Records Pledge for Peace, Love, and non-violence. All those in attendance will be invited to build upon the very foundation of Dr. King’s movement by taking a pledge to choose Peace+Love along with making a visual commitment to create a city of non-violence and a society that perpetuates peace+love.
