Join us on Zoom for a virtual chat with bookbinder, Ramon Townsend. Hear about Ramon’s start at Colonial Williamsburg and how bookbinding became his passion. Ramon will be live from Historic Sugartown’s Book Bindery and will virtually demonstrate some of the craft for viewers. Viewers will be able to ask questions directly to Ramon at the end of his presentation. Historic Sugartown staff will also be on hand to talk a bit about the Book Bindery and answer any questions you may have.
The Book Bindery at Historic Sugartown houses a world-class collection of over 2,500 bookbinding tools and equipment. To enhance this fantastic collection, Historic Sugartown offers workshops on traditional book crafts such as bookbinding, paper marbling, and gold tooling. These workshops would not be possible without our incredible partnership with Ramon Townsend of The Colonial Bindery right here in Chester County. Ramon and his partners lead all of the workshops in the bindery and have enabled us to give this traditional craft new life!
