Upcoming Book Restoration Workshop in Historic Sugartown’s Bindery

Presented by Historic Sugartown at Historic Sugartown

In response to popular demand, our Colonial Williamsburg-trained instructor, Ramon Townsend, has developed a workshop that explores the techniques of book restoration. Participants will dissect a book and reassemble it. They will deconstruct a book by detaching the covers and spine, removing the sewing, and disassembling the text. Then, participants will reconstruct the book by performing page repair, re-sewing the text and re-hinging the covers and spine. The book, materials and supplies are provided. All skill levels are welcome.

Workshop Admission: $100/ Participant, all supplies included. Ages 18 & Up.  The workshop will take place from 9AM – 3PM.  Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 8 participants. Visit HistoricSugartown.org or call 610-640-2667 to register!
