SpeakUp! is changing and saving lives … one conversation at a time!

SpeakUp! provides youth, educators and parents with the skills, opportunities and support to speak up and be heard on the critical issues of today (such as anxiety and depression, alcohol and drug use, toxic stress, suicide, relationships, identity, social media, and more).

SpeakUp! enables youth to make healthy life choices– and parents and educators to guide and support them — as they navigate the journey to become happy, confident adults.

By partnering with 40 diverse middle and high schools in the area, SpeakUp! brings youth, educators, and parents together on a level playing field in a safe, nonjudgmental, non-lecturing environment for facilitated dialogue on tough social and emotional topics selected by the youth.

Participants tell us that as a result of SpeakUp!:

•  96%  realize they are not alone in their feelings or experiences,
• 93% are more willing to ask for help if needed,
• and 91% have new strategies to manage difficult situations in their lives.

SpeakUp! is building a culture of communication in our homes and our schools where it is O.K. to talk about things that are hard to talk about; and, where conversations among teenagers and adults lead to guidance and support.
