84 S Lansdowne Ave, Lansdowne, PA 19050
In March 1993, a small, all volunteer folk music club opened its doors and began presenting folk, acoustic, and blue’s music to Lansdowne and the surrounding communities. The founders never envisioned the club would make it past the first year, but now, twenty years later the Lansdowne Folk Club has become a stalwart in the folk music scene.
Founded by Lee Jones, Mike Joyce and several friends, the club focused on the talents of local and regional folk and blues music acts, but in a short time the LFC was presenting both national and international performers. Acts such as Dave Van Ronk, The Kennedys, Susan Werner, Walter Hyatt, The Waybacks, John Renbourn and Jacqui McShee, Ben Arnold and Jim Boggia have played the club.
All folk club concerts take place in the recently renovated ballroom of Lansdowne’s “Twentieth Century Club,” a Victorian-era jewel.
