Spring Militia Muster

Spring Militia Muster

Presented by Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation at Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation

It is the spring of 1777. After the Battle of Princeton on January 3rd, the Continental Army has been wintering in Morristown, NJ. Fighting will surely resume when the weather turns warmer. The members of the Chester County militia are preparing to defend their homes. Join CPP volunteers as they show how their muskets worked, how to start a fire with flint and steel and what is needed to be in the newly formed 1777 militia. Musters were important but they are not all work. There will be music, colonial games, hearth cooking and more. You are welcome to visit our colonial era house and meet our farm animals.
