County Courthouse Research With Susan Evans

County Courthouse Research With Susan Evans

Presented by Tredyffrin Library at Tredyffrin Public Library

Many presentations cover the history of laws governing the transfer of property (real and property), immigration and more, but not where to find clues. As with most genealogical research, it may require close analysis of the information and documents you may already have.

After finding clues in commonly acquired records, censuses, vital records, etc., folks will be taken through the process of accessing not only the records, but the courthouse itself.

While some county records are available on-line, gaps may occur, or it will be limited to the indices. In other cases, the records/files of other departments, and there are many, that do not.

For those unfamiliar with courthouse research, on-line or in-person, this presentation provides guidance on

 • What to look for in existing documents
• Preparing for an on-site visit
• Various departments and the records they hold
• Having a successful experience

This is a HYBRID meeting, the speaker will be IN PERSON, you can also attend in person at the Tredyffrin Public Library, 582 Upper Gulph Rd, Strafford PA or on Zoom.
