Our Emerging Artists Series continues with the Canellakis-Brown Duo (cello and piano) performing classics by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and more along with their own arrangements and compositions.
The next concert in our season features the “extraordinarily gifted” (The Boston Music Intelligencer) Canellakis-Brown Duo (cello and piano) performing classics by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and more along with rarely heard gems and their own arrangements and compositions. The program is titled \”(b)romance\” in celebration of the music the artists are playing (four of the pieces are titled romances) and their long friendship. There will be an opportunity to meet and talk with them following the performance.
Canellakis and Brown are both artists with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and also have celebrated individual careers. Canellakis, acclaimed as “superb” by The New Yorker, made his Carnegie Hall debut as soloist with the American Symphony Orchestra in 2015, is the Artistic Director of Chamber Music Sedona, and graduated from Curtis Institute of Music and New England Conservatory. Brown, called a “young piano visionary” by The New York Times, was a 2018 Lincoln Center Emerging Artist and 2015 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and is also a critically acclaimed composer who holds dual bachelor\’s and master\’s degrees in piano and composition from The Juilliard School. Don’t miss this amazing duo!
