The Delaware County Veterans Memorial is commemorating the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks by playing “Taps” on Saturday morning during the times the four planes crashed.
Join us on the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks as we remember the 2,977 lives lost and a nation forever changed.
This poignant event will begin at 8:30 am with remarks from Joseph Daly, Board President of the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association, followed by a moment of silence and wreath laying in remembrance of those we lost 20 years ago.
Beginning at 8:45 AM, Martin Holahan will be playing our military’s music of mourning “Taps” to mark the four times a plane crashed: 8:46 AM (North Tower), 9:03 AM (South Tower), 9:37 AM (Pentagon), and 10:07 (Flight 93). The brief yet poignant ceremony will conclude with a wreath being laid at the fountain. 9/11 is a difficult day for many and we encourage you not to spend it alone. If you are unable to attend in person, there will be a live stream available on Facebook.
