With new health precautions in place, Historic Sugartown is excited to continue offering in-person workshops. Our workshops are limited to 4 participants and 1 instructor to maintain social distancing. All participants and instructors will be required to wear masks as well.  New health precaution information will be accessible on Historic Sugartown’s webpage.

Try your hand at traditional bookbinding in Historic Sugartown’s Book Bindery! Colonial Williamsburg-trained instructor, Ramon Townsend of ColonialBindery.com, will lead the class through the entire binding process. Surrounded by a world-class collection of 19th-century bookbinding tools, participants will create a book using traditional methods employed through the mid-19th century. Along with their book, participants will also be provided step-by-step written instructions they can take home.

Feedback from past participants has been extremely positive. A past workshop participant wrote, “I attended the book binding class yesterday. It was excellent; Ramon Townsend did a wonderful job and the space was inspiring.”

Workshop Admission: $90/ Participant, all supplies included. Ages 14 & Up.

Historic Sugartown, Inc., is a private, nonprofit organization committed to protecting the 19th-century village of Sugartown.
