Join New Horizons Senior Center in an all-day celebration of the famous activist, through two special Zoom Events
On Monday, January 18, New Horizons holds a special commemoration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Adults 55 and over are invited to join us to learn about the famous activist’s past, and discuss his philosophy of non-violence. Then stay with us to hear original pieces created in honor of the day, and the man.
10:30 AM: MLK Jr’s “Letter from Birmingham Jail”: Historian Bob Bond presents a talk on the eloquent letter written by Martin Luther King, Jr while he was in prison for a participating in a nonviolent demonstration.
1:00 PM: Creative Poems and Writings on MLK: Enjoy writings and poems by talented NHSC Creative Writers, inspired by Martin Luther King, JR.
New Horizons Virtual Center for Active Adults, the Remote Face of New Horizons Senior Center, is dedicated to aiding Seniors to stay safe, healthy, and active during these interesting times. We are using the Zoom Platform to provide a number of remote programs that enable Seniors to continue to enjoy the exercises and hobbies that they love.
