St. David's Church Launches Christianity 101 On-line Educational

Presented by St. David's Episcopal Church at Online/Virtual Space

St. David’s Episcopal Church announces a new educational video series entitled Christianity 101: Being a Christian at Home and in the World. Designed for in-home learning, study and discussion, the 7-10 minute segments will guide viewers in an exploration of 10 key topics of Christianity including the history and study of the Bible, Baptism, Holy Communion, understanding the Christian calendar, and what being a Christian means in our current times.

The initial episode of Christianity 101 is slated to air the week of June 22, with subsequent episodes posted each week through mid-August. The program is open to the public and can be accessed weekly via the Christianity 101 link provided on St. David’s Website and by visiting St. David’s Episcopal Church on Facebook. Additionally, all episodes will be archived on St. David’s YouTube page (St. David’s Episcopal Church Radnor). Although the segments are pre-recorded, viewers may request participation in small interactive virtual discussion groups following each week’s airing.

Christianity 101 is the latest of St. David’s Christian Living at Home opportunities, created for public on-line access during this time of pandemic when area church buildings remain closed. The church is streaming two services weekly, Sunday Worship at 9:15 a.m. and Wednesday Evening Prayer at 6:30 p.m. Virtual groups have been meeting since mid-March to provide ongoing learning, study, fellowship and spiritual and personal support in an interactive environment. Among these groups are Mindfulness Meditation, Bible Studies, several book groups, Centering Prayer and Journeying Forward, a grief group for young adults. All programs are free of charge, open to the public and may be accessed through www.stdavidschurch.org.

“In this time of being at home amidst pandemic and social unrest, many Christians are finding new energy to renew their faith and spiritual practices, going deeper into learning about Christianity and finding new ways to explore what it means to be a Christian,” observes the Reverend Frank Allen, Rector of St. David’s. “We invite our local community to take advantage of the on-line resources we’ve made available as together we navigate the new normal of our Christian lives.”
