The Black Powder Tavern’s Historic Dinner Series: ‘The Things They Carried, ‘ History speaker Chris Reardon will talk about the items of kit and equipment carried by both civilians and the military.
March 17th, the Black Powder Tavern in Wayne, PA is hosting an event combining ales, food and history.
On tyhat date, The Tavern continues its popular Colonial Era Historic Dinner Series with ‘The Things They Carried, ‘ featuring history speaker Chris Reardon, who will talk about the items of kit and equipment carried by both civilians and the military when in the field during the period 1690-1790. The focus will be on the items you would likely encounter in the Delaware and Hudson Valleys.
Chris Reardon is a historian and lives on what was part of the Battle of the Clouds battlefield. He was past president of the East Goshen Township Historical Commission, past treasurer of the Paoli Battlefield Preservation Fund, and volunteers at both Newlin Grist Mill and the PA Colonial Plantation.
Buffet Dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. Patrons will then go to the upstairs room for the lecture, then Q&A. After the session, attendees will enjoy complimentary coffee and mini desserts.
