Join us for a screening and post movie discussion on Flamenco Flamenco.
Director Carlos Saura captures twenty-one extraordinary performances by flamenco artists young and old, merging movement, music, image, and stagecraft. Lensed by master cinematographer Vittorio Storaro (Apocalypse Now, The Conformist), this sensuous dance film is an odyssey through the tradition of flamenco and into its future.
Join us after the film for a conversation with Elba Hevia y Vaca, renowned flamenco artist and founder of Pasion y Arte, moderated by Brittanie Sterner of the Free Library of Philadelphia.
This screening is presented in conjunction with One Book, One Philadelphia.
