Hosted by the Valley Forge Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society presented by Linda Eirhart, Director of Horticulture/Senior Curator of Plants at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library Sunday, January 19 from 2:00 – 3:30pm
Enjoy a walk through history as Linda Eirhart shares the background and design influences that went into the development of the gardens at Winterthur. She will reveal some of the amusing correspondence between H.F. du Pont and the nurserymen and hybridizers of his day. These relationships helped him to create his “Wild Garden”, and led him to collect and grow “just about every new evergreen azalea that became available.”
