Capture the beauty of the creeks, woods, hills, valleys and wildlife of the Chester, Ridley and Crum watersheds by entering The Chester Ridley Crum Watersheds Association (CRC) Watersheds Photo Contest, held to celebrate CRC’s 50^th Anniversary in 2020. Top prize is $75, with 12 winners being featured in CRC’s first ever calendar. A reception will also be held for winners October 26 at Beauty Art, Gifts & Décor in Newtown Square, and many photos will be featured on CRC’s web site. Deadline for submissions is Sept. 1, 2019.

Photographs must be taken within the Chester, Ridley or Crum Watersheds. Amateur or professional photographers may submit images taken within the last five years and from any season. There are limitless photogenic spots to consider, including Ridley Creek State Park, Okehocking Preserve, Saul Wildlife Sanctuary, Rose Tree Park, Bartram Bridge, Serpentine Preserve, Crozer Park, Crum Woods at Swarthmore College, and many others, as well as your own backyard.

Entries will be judged for originality, composition and storytelling. Entry fee is $15 for up to 3 submissions. For more information, go to crcwatersheds.org.

About the Chester Ridley Crum Watersheds Association

The Chester Ridley Crum Watersheds Association (CRC) has as its mission to support, encourage and promote the enjoyment, restoration, conservation, protection and prudent management of the natural resources of the Chester, Ridley and Crum Creek Watersheds. The organization conducts multiple tree plantings in the fall and spring, as well as a multi-site Streams Cleanup each spring. At this year’s Streams Cleanup, nearly 600 volunteers removed 9.5 tons of trash and debris from local creeks and streams. CRC also hosts educational events throughout the year, including nature walks, lectures and its annual Awards Dinner recognizing local environmental stewardship.
