Free creative art activities and performances. Celebrate the art of stories with award-winning artist and illustrator Raúl Colón and performances by Jeannine Osayande & Dunya Performing Arts Company.
Celebrate the art of stories through art, music and dance on this First Sunday for Families at Brandywine River Museum of Art. Discover classic tales in N. C. Wyeth: New Perspectives and express your personal vision under the direction of teaching artists at the illustration station. Be inspired by award-winning artist and children’s book illustrator Raúl Colón and Imagine, his newest book about a young boy whose adventures in an art museum spill out into the streets of the city. Explore diaspora West African dance, drum, song and storytelling traditions from the Mali Empire and get moving on an interactive Passport Journey featuring Jeannine Osayande & Dunya Performing Arts Company. First Sundays for Families presents free, hands-on workshops designed to engage visitors of all ages in creative art activities and performances. No registration necessary.
This program is part of The Art of Stories presented by PNC Arts Alive—a multidisciplinary celebration of the narrative arts and the ways in which stories are crafted, saved and shared including discussions, performances and opportunities for artistic self-expression.
