The Delaware County Symphony offers a fun filled, family focused educational program to explain the instruments used to perform in a full symphonic orchestra.
The Delaware County Symphony invites all families to a free Instrument Petting Zoo for children. Seven classically trained musicians will explain and demonstrate to the children how their specific instruments: Flute, Violin, Viola, Cello, Bassoon, Oboe, French Horn, Bass, and Clarinet, individually sound and are uniquely used in classical music to make a full symphonic sound. The program will conclude with an ensemble performance of Simple Gifts and When The Saints Go Marching In so the children may hear the sounds of the instruments performing together. Saturday, March 23 from 11 am to 12 noon in the community room. The program is free and open to the public.
