GiveBack Workshop: Little Free Library

GiveBack Workshop: Little Free Library

Presented by National Liberty Museum at National Liberty Museum

GiveBack Workshops at NLM are a unique way of volunteering and the perfect spark to activate your family’s sense of empathy, respect, and responsibility, the character traits that make someone a true hero of liberty. A different GiveBack Workshop is held once each month on a Saturday morning. You and your children will work together to complete a “make-and-donate” activity specifically designed by the partner organization for that month.

Here is this month’s workshop: A Little Free Library (LFL) is a small “library” (actually “a box on a post”) where people can leave or take books as they wish. During this workshop, families will be assisting the NLM in creating and decorating our own Little Free Library to encourage reading in the Philadelphia community. As there is some construction involved, the Museum will complete that first portion and families will assist in decorating and installing the “library.” Your family will also be designing fun bookmarks (with messages of liberty) that the NLM will distribute in addition to the books they collect. Children attending this workshop are welcome to bring a book they’d like to donate.

• February 9, Sole Hope
