GiveBack Workshop: Color A Smile and Cradles to Crayons

GiveBack Workshop: Color A Smile and Cradles to Crayons

Presented by National Liberty Museum at National Liberty Museum

GiveBack Workshops at NLM are a unique way of volunteering and the perfect spark to activate your family’s sense of empathy, respect, and responsibility, the character traits that make someone a true hero of liberty. A different GiveBack Workshop is held once each month on a Saturday morning. You and your children will work together to complete a “make-and-donate” activity specifically designed by the partner organization for that month.

This month families will be participating in TWO similar activities from two different organizations: For Color a Smile, families will be working on coloring pages that the organization ships to many different people, including troops overseas and senior centers. Cradles to Crayons (CtC), works in regions of the U.S. with a significant percentage of children living below the poverty line, including Philadelphia.  They provide aid to children who don’t have access to basic resources, such as shoes that fit, a warm coat, a backpack to carry their school books, and other items. Families will be drawing/writing encouraging pictures and notes that CtC will be handing out along with their donations. You are also welcome to bring a donation of a new or nearly new children’s item for CtC to distribute.
