Easttown Library Welcomes Nationally Acclaimed Artist Dane Tilghman on November 3rd
Dane Tilghman, a premier painter of the African-American experience, will be at the Easttown Library & Information Center in Berwyn on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. You will have the unique opportunity to meet Mr. Tilghman who is best known for paintings depicting images of musicians, blues and jazz, and the Negro League baseball. His sought-after artwork may be found at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown and as part of the art collections of well-known public figures, including the late Nelson Mandela. Wherever his art may be exhibited, his distinctive style ranging from realism to his own creative combination of surrealism and primitive elongation is easily recognizable. Mr. Tilghman is a graduate of Conestoga High School and Kutztown University who still lives in Chester County. His artwork will be on exhibit and for sale at Easttown Library for the entire month of November, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the library.
