Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church hosts free symposium on dementia

Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church invites the community to attend a free symposium, “In It Together: An Honest Look at Dementia,” on Sat., Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon in Congregational Hall. The church is located at 625 Montgomery Ave. in Bryn Mawr.

The symposium features a panel of distinguished professionals who will lead a discussion about care of the deeply forgetful. What is dementia? Where can I find moments of connection and joy in the midst of memory loss? How do I sustain myself in the midst of caregiving?

Panelists include the Rev. Sue Ebersberger, Chaplain, Dr. Mary Hofmann, Geriatrician, Eileen Joseph, Social Worker, and David McDonald, Main Line Health HomeCare & Hospice. Brian Duke, System Director of Senior Services, Main Line Health, former Secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Aging, will serve as moderator of the panel.

This event will include time for questions and answers, access to resources and support for walking alongside those with memory changes. Light refreshments will also be provided.

Registrations preferred; contact Kiki McKendrick at Ki************@bm**.org or call 610-525-0766.
