A Saturday afternoon of free music played on the porches of South Wayne
South Wayne PorchFest has expanded for 2018 to over 50 different musical acts on 24 porches from St. Davids Rd through Windermere Ave and the 400 block of Midland Ave. The Saturday, September 15th afternoon of free music is open to the public from Noon to 5 p.m. You will find a wide variety of music options: rock, classical, Americana, hip-hop, bluegrass, jazz, bell choirs, brass ensembles, alt. country, indie rock, folk, Nusoul, a capella, R&B, Great American songbook, zydeco, ukuleles and more.
The music streets will be closed to motor vehicle traffic so that PorchFest-goers can walk from house to house along South Wayne’s 6/10ths of a mile of music. Public parking is nearby and accessible. As this is PorchFest’s second year, they are keeping it simple. The public is encouraged to bring a picnic or patronize the terrific places to eat in Wayne. Various local school organizations will be setting up small stands along the festival route for PorchFest-goers to pick up a snack.
For the South Wayne PorchFest 2018 schedule of performances, please visit our website at www.southwayneporchfest.com. Printed maps and schedules will be available at entrance points along the route. A map and schedule will also be posted to the website.
This event is free and open to the public.
