Texts and Translations: Comparisons, Complications...and Confusion

Texts and Translations: Comparisons, Complications...and Confusion

Presented by Main Line Reform Temple at Main Line Reform Temple

Traditionalists often say “The Bible is the Word of God.” But since God did not originally “speak English,” decoding the intent of the Bible when it reaches us in translation can be a challenge.

Join us in this discussion led by Rabbi Richard Hirsh, Assistant Rabbi at Congregation M’kor Shalom in Cherry Hill, as we look at several well-known biblical selections as presented in a number of different translations. Bagels and coffee provided!
