Summer is sizzlin’ with $700 burgers, a new Italian BYOB in Ardmore, gift boxes galore and more! Stay cool, friends!

Bring Your Appetite—and Your Wallet

$700 will buy you a four-month supply of Big Macs. It will also buy you ONE ribeye patty smothered in caviar and nestled in a gold-dusted bun. Intrigued? Head downtown to DBG(formerly Drury Beer Garden) and savor this headline-making—and eyebrow-raising— burger in all its glory.

While most DBG burgers fall in the $19 to $25 range, the $700 “Gold Standard” stars a Japanese A5 ribeye wagyu patty topped with caviar, Wexford aged Irish cheddar, Italian black truffle and lobster flambéed with Louis XIII cognac. The burger is then tucked in a bun coated in 24-karat gold leaf and served alongside a one ounce pour of Louis XIII and fries sprinkled with a rare brand of New Zealand honey. Got all that?

Ironically, DBG also offers the least expensive restaurant-grade burger in town, an appetizer-sized “Smash Burger” that costs just $2.95. Pick your poison.

DBG is the brainchild of siblings George and Vasiliki Tsiouris of Merion who revamped and rebranded the eatery last month. Aside from burgers, DBG offers an impressive drinks menu, an outdoor beer garden and guest DJs who spin tunes three times a week. And if you somehow manage to save room for dessert, don’t miss the PB&J Dessert Burger made with fried peanut butter and jelly, bananas and bacon.

P.S. The Gold Standard is a relative bargain compared to the world’s most expensive burger, which will set you back $6,000 and a plane ticket to the Netherlands.

DBG is located at 1311 Sansom Street in Philadelphia. The restaurant opens at 4:00 PM on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 12:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.

Bonjourno Villa Artigiano

An adorable Italian BYOB is dishing out all the classics in Ardmore. The family-owned Villa Artigiano Ristorante offers a sprawling menu of Italian favorites made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Dinner highlights include grilled artichokes topped with sautéed shrimp, chopped arugula and white truffle oil; a risotto scallopine (Italian short grain rice with saffron, seared scallops and fresh parsley); and branzino served whole or filleted tableside. Lunch goers have their pick of paninis, along with several pasta dishes and salads.

While Villa Artigiano is BYOB, wine bottles can be purchased onsite. Outdoor seating, carryout and catering are available as well.

Villa Artigiano is located at 53 W Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore. Check the Web site for hours.
