Hi Neighbor!

I don’t know about you but I’m ready to leave the house and get on the road. Of course, even for those who have been vaccinated, we’re advised to do it safely. So, I’m taking things slowly, discovering outdoor locations to visit and in some cases re-visit. But I’m definitely getting out of the house. Feels like such a big step after having been indoors for what feels like the longest winter ever.

I’m especially motivated to be outdoors in nature. Visiting places where I can see far into the distance puts the dramas of my life into perspective visually and emotionally. When I’m home, I lose sight of the vastness of the world and my place relative to it. But my perspective is regained when looking out across a field, up into the sky or admiring a brightly colored flower. Issues that felt huge at home are reduced to their appropriate size, often disappearing completely into the open space.

Seeing everything bloom this time of year is especially exciting. It’s like nature’s own kaleidoscope. The smallest blossoms can have the most striking colors. It’s calming to focus on just one flower in a field of flowers to begin to appreciate the peace of being centered in the moment.
