Sometimes in the evening, I scroll through the seemingly endless series available on Netflix, HBO and other providers. Recently after realizing I’d just spent an hour and couldn’t decide on watching anything, I went to bed early, reading an engaging book which, frankly, didn’t make me feel like I wasted my time. And then there are the evenings that I’ve quickly decided on a series but stopped watching after an hour or so, finding some truly awful ones.
Hopefully the suggestions below will help save you some scrolling and maybe provide some viewing enjoyment during the remaining dark, cold winter nights. These are a few series that received both my husband’s and my two thumbs up. I’ve provided my own ratings. Instead of assessing them by Hollywood’s gauge, I’ve listed them by intensity. I prefer my shows calm and uplifting. My husband likes action and edginess. So, there’s something offered for everyone.
If there are series you’ve discovered, consider sharing on the MainLine Neighbors blog. Personally, I’d love to see what you’ve enjoyed. And reach out to neighbors and friends with your discoveries. You’d be providing a public service since they’re also likely scrolling themselves into a frustrated frenzy.
Watching through winter,
Jane
