Hello Neighbor!

The other day I was working on a project and needed some short personal sayings to include. Little blurbs that I personally use in conversation.  Everyone has them … their own personal expressions that tend to stick and are used over and over again.  I was just really struggling to find things that were particularly unique to me.  Although I knew I must have some, seeing that I could get a tad expressive once in a while. (that last sentence will be particularly funny to those who know me)

After mulling it over for way longer than I should have, I finally texted my youngest daughter (she’s 22).  I asked “What are some things I say all the time?  Sayings…phrases… anything you can think of.”    She texted me back IMMEDIATELY.  As if these things were sitting on the tip of her tongue just waiting to be released!

“Toots and Fruits”
“Coocoo for Cocoa Puffs.”
“Eat a banana.”
“Whatever floats your boat.”
“Fake it ’til ya make it.”
“Just looney toons.”
“Sorry Charlie”
“Get a grip child.”
“Jeeze Louise!”
“Good Lord!”

I thought “WOW – this 22 year old was actually listening to me for all those years!”   Then I thought… “And THIS is what she remembers and can recite back to me in record time?! Oh brother.”

OMG!  I just ended that sentence with “Oh brother”? That’s something MY mother says all the time!

Watch out for those “mother phrases”, they’ll getcha!
