Hi Neighbor!

2020 has been life changing for all of us. As 2020 comes to a close I don’t think any of us anticipated what has transpired over the last nine months. In March when everything shut down for the first fourteen days, that two weeks seemed like an eternity. Amazing how perspectives change. Then it continued in April, May, June…now December. We got through it.

But, no one was spared. Some of us had minor losses and others suffered immensely, losing loved ones. 2020 has amplified not to take anything for granted. Simple things like a hug, cup of coffee with a friend, going to a movie, and spending holidays with loved ones will one day feel significant. Probably not a bad thing.

We’ve all heard “There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.” I see it more as a glimmer. Not to be a downer but today we are very much still in the tunnel. It’s expected to be months before the vaccine hits the general population in significant numbers. I hate winter and this year the DREAD IS REAL! It’s going to be a tough one and we may all need a little help. That’s the other thing 2020 has taught me. It’s OK to ask for help! Again, maybe that’s not such a bad thing. All in all 2020 was not in my top 53 years, but it wasn’t my worst.

Here are a few books to help you prepare for the upcoming winter.
Wintering by Katherine May
Happiness Is . . . 500 Ways to Be in the Moment by Lisa Swerling & Ralph Lazar
The Lazy Dog’s Guide to Enlightenment by B. Wilson
The Little Book of Self-Care by Joanna Gray
Outer Order, Inner Calm by Gretchen Rubin

We are beyond grateful to continue to provide MainLine Neighbors, sharing our stories, promoting local events and businesses, cultivating our community and employing amazing women.  And we look forward to continuing in 2021!

Keep believing in the promise of the new year ahead,
Regina
