Hi Neighbor!

Are you sending out holiday cards this year? “Definitely NOT,” a friend told me when I broached the topic with her last week, adding that she has exactly three photos of her kids without masks. “What’s the point?” asked another friend. And yet I have some friends for whom Covid has only strengthened their resolve to hand stamp some holiday cheer. Based on my highly unscientific research, there doesn’t seem to be much middle ground…you’re either gleefully dropping cards in the mail or socially distancing yourself from card making of any kind. As for me, I’m definitely #teamholidaycard. After all, the pandemic has taken away so much; why should I let it take my holiday card tradition too? Now more than ever, I crave connection, and receiving cards from family and friends—many of whom we haven’t seen all year—warms my heart. And who cares if you don’t have photos from a fabulous vacation to share? (I just snapped a quick one of my kids leaning against a fence in our backyard.)

Card companies like Hallmark and Paper Source are reporting upticks in sales this year, especially for Covid- and quarantine-themed designs. Here are a few of my favorites:

• Rolling with it.
• Hang in there!
• Covid Bingo
• All. The. Days.
• Baby it’s Covid outside!
• We made it.
• It’s fine.
• Ruff year.
• Quarantine searches.
• Oh what fun!

Sending you socially distanced holiday wishes,
Kate
