Hi Neighbor!

Life is busy. We all juggle family, work, social commitments and so much more. We want to give our time and resources in a meaningful way, but we often don’t know where to start. GIVE T/E was founded by women for women who are short on time but want to give back in a meaningful way.

Rachel Kramer and a few neighborhood friends decided they wanted to do something in their community to make an impact. They had read about another local group, 100 Women in Phoenixville, and thought why not TE!? So they recruited a few more friends and launched GIVE T/E in late January. Their mission is to bring together a group of dynamic women who want to make an immediate, direct, and positive impact to the Tredyffrin/Easttown community. The initial goal was to recruit 100 women and as of late February they were at 106 members – and they don’t plan on capping membership. The more members they have the greater impact they can make.

The idea is simple but powerful. The group meets twice per year, listens to five-minute presentations from three local charities, and each member votes for a winner.  Each woman in attendance writes a check for $100 to the winning charity that night so 100% of the funds are awarded directly to that charity. The combined members’ donations make a large-scale impact. In addition to the money raised the attendees are introduced to other worthy non-profits in the community.

Members can nominate a local organization and there is an evaluation process, making sure the non-profit meets eligibility requirements. All nominees that meet the requirements are put into a hat and three are picked for the membership meeting. Presentations are given and members vote. This all happens twice a year, so the commitment for a member is 2 hours and $200 for the year.

GIVE T/E will meet on March 10th at 30 Main at 7PM. If you are interested you can attend the first meeting or join that night. The next meeting will be in September. Here are more details.
