Hello Neighbor!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Don’t worry; I’m not going to bombard you with overpriced hot spots to take your Valentine, sappy ways to say I love you or soul-crushing Pinterest crafts. While my feelings on Valentine’s Day are mixed (love the cute little cards my kids bring home; hate all the pressure to make it the most Romantic. Day. Ever.), I can’t let the holiday pass without paying homage in some way. So, I made a list of life’s perfect pairings—things that go together so well it’s a wonder they can survive apart:

• Coffee shops & endless talks
• Snow days & baked goods (longtime readers know I’m not a snow day mom—like, at all—but a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies [LINK verybestbaking.com/recipes/18476/original-nestle-toll-house-chocolate-chip-cookies/] helps)
• Rachel McAdams & Ryan Gosling in The Notebook
• Toddlers & unanswerable questions (“Mommy, why are houses outside?”)
• Bookstores & rainy afternoons
• Draft beer & sizzling summer days
• Bakeries & cobblestone streets
• Facebook & FOMO
• Airplanes & stale pretzels
• Body shops & bad news
• Cream cheese & pumpkin bread
• Deadlines & computer crashes
• French fries & vinegar
• Milkshakes & long spoons
• Newborns & cozy hats (& no sleep—ha!)
