Hi Neighbor!

I have trouble switching gears after the holidays. Sound familiar?

I always think it’s just my experience. Then speak with friends and neighbors and am surprised to learn they’re going through the same difficulty post-holidays.

There was so much to do in anticipation of everyone arriving – wrapping gifts and baking and cooking – then celebrating the new year. Even winter didn’t feel so cold while I was preoccupied. Down-shifting back into neutral isn’t so easy. I miss the company and chaos.

But the holidays are over and we’re all back to school and work. Waiting for me at home now are loads of laundry and decorations needing to go back into the attic. And it’s so quiet. Worst of all, it’s grey and cold outside with no hint of spring. Would be great to fly off somewhere warm but my husband and my work schedules aren’t synching up.  Okay, I’m complaining.

Here are some things I find helpful to ease the transition.  Maybe a few will be helpful to you.

Please share your tips on post-holiday, winter doldrum gear shifting in the comments below.
