Hello Neighbor!

What’s the opposite of a green thumb? Black? Brown? Whatever it is, I have one. I kill plants. Indoor plants that is. I really want to keep them alive. I try but inevitability weeks after I buy a plant, with the best of intentions for keeping it alive, it succumbs to my failed attempts.

I recently bought a Fiddle Leaf Fig because we have a big window with warm sunlight that streams into our living room. I thought this was the perfect spot – it will get lots of warm sunlight everyday and will flourish and grow into a big beautiful plant I can be proud of … not so much.

A week after I got it a few leaves started to get a little brown so I began moving the plant around the house throughout the day into any place sunlight is streaming through windows. My husband came into the kitchen, looked at the plant sitting next to our patio doors and asked, “Why does the plant keep moving?” As if it was doing it on it’s own. To which I replied, “It’s sunbathing” like it’s totally normal. I even gave it a warm schvitz. I turned the shower on, filled it with warm steam and put the plant in  – when my husband wasn’t home.

The plant is currently on the edge of life. I’m not sure it will make it but I tried. Hey, we can’t all be good at everything. 🙂

Enjoy!
