Hi Neighbor!
What’s your lunch routine? For the past ten years or so I’ve eaten the same thing for lunch every day: a sandwich, yogurt and a small(ish) piece of chocolate. It’s evolved a bit—I swapped out turkey for avocado and regular yogurt for Greek a few years back—but not much. I know some of you are shaking your head in disbelief, but I never tire of my simple lunch fare. In fact, I look forward to it.
After all these years, I’ve never thought much about my lunch routine—or what it says about me—until I read this article.
Apparently, there is a whole subculture of people out there like me who eat the same thing for lunch every day. My first thought was that we should start a Facebook group or plan a convention. (The best part? NO NEED to order lunch; we’ll gladly pack our own!) In the article, the author cited a variety of reasons for eating the same thing every day, from dietary restrictions to decision fatigue to a desire to save money. Of course some people just write us off as boring and uninspired. To those critics I insist that I’m saving my creative energy for other, more important pursuits, like writing this newsletter!
Ten years from now, will I still be eating the same thing for lunch? Who knows? What I do know is that when something works, I tend to stick with it.
