Hi Neighbor!

The Girl Scouts launched cookie season and, sadly, I haven’t had one cookie yet! Maybe I’m shopping at the wrong stores, but I’ve seen no signs of a cookie booth. I work from home, so I’ve seen no order forms in the breakroom. My daughter has aged out and none of my young nieces have approached me. So here I am readers…if your daughters want a sale, this is your hot lead!

I’ve heard of some creative sales approaches. Locally, some Manayunk restaurants and bars teamed up with a troop to create cookie dishes and cocktails. In California, a girl scout set up shop outside a marijuana dispensary where she sold 300 boxes in just six hours. Jennifer Garner helped her daughters sell cookies outside a grocery store…that’s almost not fair to the scouts vying for the most cookie sales badge. Is that a thing? I was a Brownie dropout.

Everyone has their favorites: mine is Samoas (now called Caramel deLites) and my dad loved Thin Mints (still called Thin Mints). My daughter and her college roommates agree that Thin Mints is their number one with Peanut Butter Patties (used to be Tagalongs) a close second. On an aside: Bring back the classic names girls…they’re more fun!

I can order online or download the Girl Scout Cookie Finder app, but I want an in-person solicitation. The cookie program is a life-changing-goal-setting adventure teaching money management and leadership skills while building confidence and girl power. So bring it on girls! Sell me some cookies!

ENJOY!
