When I was younger I never really thought too much about make-up. I used it sparingly. But over the past 5 years I’ve purchased more products to combat the signs of aging. So I’m now at the point that I’m not quite sure what to do. There are scary things in places that weren’t there before – wrinkles and ridges and spots … oh my!

So since I’m reverse nesting with time on my hands I decided to do something about it. I’m doing a make over! I wanted someone, who knows what they are talking about, to help me – and I found her.

After some researching I came across a class called Make-up for Mature Women. Perfection! Beke Beau is a Make-up Artist (capital A for artist) and a genius! She has a bright beautiful studio in Manyunk and offers workshops and lessons (that includes a review of what you’re currently using and what products aren’t worth your time). She’s beautiful, has great style and is no BS, which I love!

I went to the workshop and then I did a one-on-one lesson with Beke.

It was one of the best things I’ve done for myself lately. During the lesson she taught ME how to enhance my best features and how to minimize “distractions” (aka wrinkles and ridges and spots ☺). She offers a ton of tips – what mirror to buy (and not to buy!), the best mascara (that you can get at CVS), and many other gems of insider info. You can listen to her on the Ladies Road Map podcast to hear some of her practical and super smart tips.

When I was finished I received a shopping list and she told me where to get everything, the cost of each item, and even reminded me to bring the 20% coupon for BB&B – a woman after my own heart! She emailed me step-by-step instructions on what she taught me in person. And most importantly – I came away with a renewed confidence! I now sit in front of my kinder, gentler mirror and like my new reflection.

Next stop on the make over- hair! (also got a tip on that!)

Enjoy!
