Pay tribute to America’s heroes and celebrate the start of summer this Memorial Day weekend!

The Main Line celebrates with unique and meaningful events designed to recognize the important service of our active duty military and veterans. Experience the country’s oldest Memorial Day parade or check out the Philly Pops with a free tribute at the Mann and more during the start-of-summer holiday.

Malvern Memorial Parade & Ceremony
The oldest Memorial Commemoration in the United States.
Our 150th Parade and 202nd Memorial Ceremony.

The parade begins on King Street in front of the driveway to the Malvern Firehouse and adjacent to Kimberton Whole Foods at the east end of Malvern Borough. It will proceed west on King St. to Warren Ave., south on Warren Ave. to Monument Ave., and turn onto Monument Ave. west to the Paoli Memorial Grounds off of Monument Ave. The parade will be followed by a Memorial Service held at the Memorial Grounds. This will be followed by entertainment and a cakewalk. Refreshments will be available.

Radnor Township Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony

Please join us for the annual Memorial Day celebration. ALL military veterans are welcome to march! The parade will be followed by the Memorial Ceremony (at the corner of Runnymede and South Wayne Avenues). Parade Route West on Route 30. Participation in the parade is at the discretion of the Radnor Memorial Day Parade Committee.

Lower Merion’s annual celebration begins at Memorial Day Concert, Parade & Service

The Merion Concert Band will play U. S. Military service songs and patriotic selections beginning at 9:45 a.m. at the corner of Lancaster and Argyle Roads.
Parade participants are to assemble on Greenfield Avenue at 10 a.m. Memorial Day Parade
The parade will step off from Greenfield Avenue at 10:30 a.m., with a parade in review at 10:45 in front of the Lower Merion Township Building at Lancaster & Argyle. Families and children are welcome with their bicycles, strollers and wagons. First, second and third place awards will be given for the best decorated bicycles.
Spectators will see First Responder units, Township veterans and civic groups, the Leon Spencer Reid Post veterans (with color guard and auxiliary), the Lower Merion Historical Society, the Friends of Linwood Park, Lower Merion Community Watch, members of the Lower Merion Township Police Department, representatives of Lower Merion’s volunteer fire companies, members of the Lower Merion Board of Commissioners, the Bryn Mawr Fire Company Honor Guard, and others.
The parade will process to St. Paul’s Cemetery for the Memorial Day Service at 11:15 a.m.
Rev. Laura Tancredi, B.A., M.Div. of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Capt. John J. Mulhern, U.S.N.R. (Ret.) will officiate at the Memorial Service and Flag Ceremony, Taps, and Cannon Salute, which is intended to honor all of those who have died while serving in the United States armed forces. Numerous local businesses continue to support the parade, as they do each year.

Gladwyne Memorial Day Parade, Ceremony & Block Party
Monday, May 28 at Noon

This commemorative day is sponsored by the Gladwyne Civic Association and held in the heart of the village. The parade assembles at 11:00 a.m. behind the Gladwyne Park. Children are invited to decorate their bikes, wagons, strollers and walk or ride in the parade. The parade begins at noon followed by a ceremony honoring our veterans. Food, fun and entertainment fill the block party and many wear red, white and blue for this very special day. Volunteers are always needed.
