Siobhan Bedford’s oil paintings, strive to capture the raw energy and complexity of creation, through explorations of rhythm in the chaos of flowing color. A bright focal point often emerges into ethereal atmospheres, revealing forms which are rooted in the earth’s elements and hint at a connection to the infinite. She paints sitting on the floor turning the canvas as she works. This allows a sense of floating above rather than the ordinary orientation of up and down. She sees painting as an extension of the self-revealing inner emotional energy states. It expresses a kind of consciousness in color and form that is both deeply personal yet finds a connection in viewers with a shared inner experience.

She received her BFA, Illustration and Painting from Marywood College, Scranton, PA in 1995. Her most recent solo show “Emergence” was at the Chester County Art Association, West Chester, PA in 2016.
