    Action Karate Main Line is a community based martial arts school that provides life skills development, self-defense and fitness programs for children ages 3+ and adults. Action Karate has provided these services throughout southeastern PA and NJ for over 25 years. All of our instructors are certified through Action Karate’s Leadership Institute and routinely participle[ate in continuing education and recertification. The instructors for Action Karate Main Line, Mr. Freed and Ms. Judy, have over 25 years of combined experience teaching children and adults martial arts.

These gatherings offer occasions for all involved to exchange information, discuss mutual conflicts and milestones, and maintain a personal and social continuum of contact with fellow community-driven members. The BDBA also works to coordinate community activities and efforts that benefit our members, neighbors and families in our area.     Bryn Mawr Film Institute (BMFI) is a nonprofit, member-supported motion picture theater and film education center located in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. BMFI is dedicated to promoting shared experiences that entertain, engage, and educate audiences through a diverse range of independent-minded films, a full curriculum of courses, and an extensive program of special events. BMFI has over 9,000 members, among the largest membership of any such theater in the country, who enjoy a range of benefits offered by several membership levels. Located in Berwyn, the Upper Main Line YMCA (UMLY) includes swimming pools, sports fields, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, street hockey rinks, an outdoor stage, music studio, dance studio, nature center, barnyard and farm, STEM lab and more than five miles of trails within a nature preserve. Our highest priority is protecting the health and safety of your children, our staff and our members. Our health and safety procedures are rooted in the latest directives and recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control, the American Camping Association and the State of Pennsylvania to create the safest environment possible. Weekly themes and activities keep camp fun and interesting. Traditional camps, as well as specialty camps in arts, theater, dance, music, environmental and stem, tennis and sports available. Financial assistance and sibling discounts available. Before and after camp time included at no additional cost.

    ChesLen Preserve is the largest privately owned nature preserve open to the public in Chester County. Miles of marked hiking trails lead visitors through shady woodlands, flower-filled meadows, fields of corn and soybeans, and stream valleys. Visitors can also explore Ollie Owl’s NaturePlayGround, where young explorers can climb logs, build stick tee-pees, hunt for bugs, explore small streams, and get a little dirty, tired, and inspired. Free play is encouraged and is a great way for kids to gain an appreciation for nature. ChesLen Preserve is one of 44 preserves owned and managed by nonprofit Natural Lands, which works to save land, care for nature, and connect people to the outdoors. All of Natural Lands’ properties are free to visit for everyone.

OICA was founded in 1964 in Philadelphia by the Reverend Dr. Leon Sullivan. Dr. Sullivan, a well-respected and beloved minister, fought for social justice all of his life. Self-reliance was Dr. Sullivan’s adage, and it remains the goal of OIC affiliates internationally. At Chester County OIC, we continue his battle against injustice and discrimination through education and life skills training. Specifically developed programs serve clients and students classified as low-income or disadvantaged. The ESL students represent 19 different native languages. Chester County OIC continues to grow and adapt to the needs of the county, students and clients.

    Francsivale Home for Smaller Animals is a nonprofit, no kill animal shelter located in Radnor, PA and has been in operation since 1909.  Francsivale’s mission is a no kill shelter, accepting adoptable cats and dogs, providing loving care while looking for permanent homes.  Our purpose is to temporarily shelter abused and unwanted companion animals, to educate the community on the plight of homeless animals and the importance of adopting, to ensure all of our “Francisvale Furries” receive all medically necessary treatment including spay and neuter, placing our animals in carefully screened homes, and to manage and operate our on site pet cemetery.

    Girls on the Run of Montgomery and Delaware Counties, PA is a nonprofit, positive youth development program for girls in 3rd-8th grades. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively incorporates running. At the end of our 10-week program, participants complete a non-competitive, celebratory 5K where they run, skip, or hop across the finish line! An independent study showed 97% of Girls on the Run participants learned critical life skills including resolving conflict, helping others, and intentional decision-making.

    The Haverford Guild of Craftsmen was chartered in August 2009 as the 16th local chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, headquartered in Lancaster, PA was founded in 1944 and is among the oldest professional craft guilds in the country. Twelve talented artists, primarily from Haverford Township, comprised our charter membership. Now, more than 10 years later, our membership has climbed to over 100 fine crafts people spanning many disciplines including basketry, jewelry, ceramics, clothing, handbags, fiber, painting, art dolls, glass, woodworking, and photography. We currently organize juried craft and art shows bi-annually open to the community to benefit  our artist members and local outreach groups centered around the arts.

    Named after Eli Shugart, an early 19th-century tavern keeper, Sugartown was a typical crossroads village that provided goods and services required by the surrounding farm community. Its central location in Willistown Township made it a favored place for political and social organizations to hold meetings in the schoolhouse, tavern, and community hall located there. Since the buildings have remained largely intact, the village provides an exceptional example of a self-sufficient community of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
