New 4K Remaster! This screening will be introduced by Nancy Ireson, Deputy Director for Collections and Exhibitions and Gund Family Chief Curator at the Barnes Foundation.
Pablo Picasso enters his studio and starts to paint. As he improvises twenty new works, the screen becomes the artist’s canvas, and images burst into being before our eyes, then develop and assume new forms. Setting out to capture “the moment and mystery of creativity”, director Henri-Georges Clouzot and cinematographer Claude Renoir (yes, one of those Renoirs) grant us rare access to one of the 20th century’s greatest artists at work.
