“The First Lady of WWII” is the first book to tell the story of Eleanor Roosevelt’s unprecedented and courageous trip to the Pacific Theater while the United States was at war with Japan.
Radnor Memorial Library, Radnor Historical Society. and Main Point Books welcome Shannon McKenna Schmidt and her new book “The First Lady of World War II: Eleanor Roosevelt’s Daring Journey to the Frontlines and Back.” Shannon will be discussing the story of that trip, along with the research she did for the book. As a special treat, attendees will be the first to see slides of some of the book’s source material, including then-top-secret Navy dispatches.
