Obon is a traditional Japanese celebration with festivities including regional dances, music contests, taiko drumming performances, arts & crafts, food and a tea ceremony.
The Philadelphia Obon Festival includes bon odori folk dance, taiko drumming performances by KyoDaiko, and tea ceremony demonstrations by Urasenke Philadelphia. Attendees can also enjoy arts and crafts, classic summer festival games, and a yukata dressing station, as well as a vendor market with home goods, apparel, and food trucks.
