One of the area’s top children’s book illustrators, Jerry Pinkney (1939-2021), is celebrated with live music and stories.
Growing up in Germantown in a time of segregation, Jerry could not imagine a career in art was possible. His pursuit of art, exploration with the complexities of history, and deep belief in the resilience of the human spirit will be commemorated with live music, and storytelling.
Weather permitting, the event will be held outside.
