Meet the bees at Laurel Hill West
Join beekeeper Susan Howatt for a tour of the apiary at Laurel Hill West and a brief introduction to beekeeping. We’ll learn tips for starting an apiary, keeping a colony healthy, and interacting safely with bees, as well as some basic bee facts and beautiful lessons that honeybee societies can teach us. Protective veils will be provided for a closer look inside of the apiary.
Afterward, celebrate the fruits of bee labor by creating a set of beeswax taper candles. All ages are welcome!
