Chamber Series Director Kristine Strecker
Under the direction of the Delaware County Symphony’s new Chamber Series Director, Kristine Strecker, the first chamber concert of the season features two great pieces: a piano quintet with strings, and a piano sextet with winds.
The Dvorak Quintet in A Major for piano and strings is among the finest music created by the 19th century Czech master, full of wonderful melodies and innovative compositional styles.
The Poulenc Sextet for piano and winds, written in 1932, exhibits light-heartedness, lively tunes, and bouncy rhythms so characteristic of the composer.
